Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, refused an earlier directive from Gov. Jim Gibbons to join the suit.

Obama's Approval Rating Hits New Low.
Obama’s approval rating fell to 44 percent in the latest CBS News Poll, the lowest level of his tenure in office. That compares to 49 percent in late March, just before the healthcare reform bill became law. His approval rating was 50 percent in January and 68 percent last April.

Obama's behavior is self-indulgent and reckless. For two years, Obama and members of Congress have angrily blamed the shortsightedness and selfishness of bankers and rating agencies for causing the recent financial crisis. The president and his supporters, historians will note, were equally shortsighted and self-centered -- though their quest was for political glory.

Tea Party Unveils 'Contract From America' - "Protect the Constitution" Planks.
You won't find many surveys that involve over 365,000 respondents, but that's how many online forms were completed to determine the top three planks of the tea-party movement's platform released Thursday as part of the new "Contract From America." Leading the list as issue No. 1: "Protect the Constitution: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does."

Poll: More blame Obama for poor economy, unemployment, etc.
USA TODAY/Gallup Poll - Americans anxious about unemployment and the economy increasingly blame President Obama for hard times. Obamacare seems to have given the president little boost. Instead, his standing on four personal qualities has sagged, and 50% of those surveyed say he doesn't deserve re-election.

Major nations agree to pursue new Iran sanctions.
WASHINGTON – Six major world powers agreed Wednesday to begin putting together proposed new sanctions on Iran over its suspect nuclear program after China dropped its opposition. China, long a holdout against fresh international penalties against Iran, signaled its willingness to consider a U.N. Security Council sanctions resolution.

Physicians' Group Sues Government Over Health-Care Reform Law.
Just a week after passage of the sweeping health-care reform bill, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons is suing to have the law overturned because the doctors believe it contains numerous violations of the U.S.
Constitution.

Russia to Hamas: "Rocket fire against Israel must stop."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov urged Hamas political chief Khaled Meshal this week to stop militants in the Gaza Strip from firing rockets against Israel. The foreign minister made his request on Wednesday in a telephone meeting, which according to Russian news agencies covered a variety of issues regarding the Middle East.

Surgeon General Says Health Care ‘Moving in Wrong Direction,’ Even With Expansion of Government Entitlements.
U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin on Tuesday has implied that the law signed last week by President Barack Obama is not enough to fix the nation's health care problems.

Hillary Clinton’s Comments on ‘Legal, Safe Abortion’ Stir Canadian Debate.
Sec. of State Hillary Clinton waded into an explosive political debate in Canada Tuesday, with remarks on abortion certain to have embarrassed her hosts at the end of a two-day Group of Eight meeting. Clinton said she would not speak for Canada, then expressed the view, “You cannot have maternal health without reproductive health. And reproductive health includes contraception and family planning and access to legal, safe abortion.”
